Business Health Check

Cut through the noise. Know what to tackle first.

Step back from the daily pressure and examine what needs attention. In a prepared 90-minute session, I work through the issues with you, then provide written findings and a prioritised action plan that takes staff capacity into account.

Why choose a Health Check

Decide where to focus your time and budget.

Look at what is costing staff time, where responsibilities are unclear and which changes are realistic. Leave with written priorities and first steps your team can use.

How I work

Understand what is contributing to the problem.

Look at the handovers, information and decisions behind the issues you see. I explore possible causes with you and identify where a closer review would help.

Choose the priorities worth acting on.

Agree where to focus, taking account of the effect on the business, staff capacity and the information available. Give your management team a shared set of priorities.

Turn the discussion into a plan.

Take away written actions with suggested owners and first steps. Use them to brief your team, organise the work and decide where you need more support.

Problems I can explore with you

Find the gaps behind familiar frustrations.

These examples show the issues I can help you bring into focus and the kinds of next steps we might agree. I work with you to choose the areas relevant to your business and record where a closer review is needed.

  • Growth

Enquiries arrive, but follow-up is inconsistent.

What I look at with you
How your team records enquiries and referrals, follows up and agrees the next step.
    A possible first step
Nominate a follow-up owner and agree a routine for reviewing open enquiries.
  • Operations

Managers stay busy, but struggle to see performance.

What I look at with you
The reports, handovers and decisions your managers use, including how they review staff time and operating costs.
    A possible first step
Agree the information managers need and a review routine that leads to decisions.
  • Recruitment

Candidates stall between application and induction.

What I look at with you
Who updates candidates, completes checks and hands over to onboarding.
    A possible first step
Clarify who owns each stage and where progress needs a check or decision.
  • Governance

Policies and actions have unclear owners.

What I look at with you
How your team controls documents, tracks actions and keeps evidence organised.
    A possible first step
Assign document and action owners, with agreed review dates and a way to track progress.
  • Systems

Staff repeat work across spreadsheets and systems.

What I look at with you
Where staff re-enter information or work around tools, and how those tasks fit the process.
    A possible first step
Map the repeated work and agree which process or system requirements need attention.

What you take away

Written priorities your team can act on.

You receive findings and an action plan after the session. Use them to brief your team and decide how to take the work forward.

  • Written findings explaining the issues discussed, why they matter and the information still needed.
  • A prioritised action plan with proposed owners, practical first steps and checks for reviewing progress.
  • A clear distinction between actions your team can take and work that needs further investigation or support.
  • A record of what is working well and should be kept as you make changes.

How it works

A focused session, followed by a written plan.

We agree the preparation before meeting. You can bring an owner, manager or colleague who knows the work and can help make decisions.

  1. Agree the focus

Before the session, I discuss your priorities with you and agree who should join and which information will help.

  2. Work through the issues

Use the 90-minute remote session to explain how the work happens, explore the difficulties and agree the most useful priorities.

  3. Receive your findings

I write up the issues, how they affect your business and the actions I recommend, with delivery timing agreed before the session.

  4. Put the plan to work

Use the suggested owners and first steps with your team. Decide which actions you can take and where you need further investigation or support.

Scope and cost

The £495 Health Check covers one 90-minute remote session and the written findings and action plan. It is an initial review of the priorities we agree. Detailed investigation, audits, system configuration and implementation work require a separate scope. Your provider’s registered leadership retains responsibility for the service.

Not VAT registered. No VAT is added to the price shown.

After the Health Check

Use the plan in the way that suits your business.

Your team can act on the findings without buying further support. If you want help, we agree the work and price as a separate engagement.

Practical answers

A few practical questions

How does this differ from the introductory call?

The 20-minute call is a chance to discuss the issue with me and decide whether I can help. The £495 Health Check is a separate, prepared 90-minute working session, followed by prioritised written findings and an action plan your team can use. I agree the focus and cost with you before you commit.

Do you review the whole business in 90 minutes?

I consider growth, operations, recruitment, governance and systems to identify priorities, then concentrate on the issues that matter most to you. The Health Check is an initial review. Detailed process investigation, a compliance audit or implementation work needs a separate scope.

How do we turn the findings into improvements?

Your action plan sets out practical first steps, proposed owners and checks for reviewing progress. This might mean agreeing an enquiry follow-up routine, clarifying a recruitment handover or assigning document owners. Where an issue needs more evidence or delivery work, I identify that in the findings so you can decide how to proceed.

What should I prepare?

I agree the focus and preparation with you before the session. You can bring an outline of the issue, the tools your team uses and the information you use to manage the business. I explain which documents would help and how to share them. Leave care records and sensitive staff or candidate information out of the enquiry form.

Do I have to book further work?

No. Your team can use the findings and action plan themselves. If you want help with a project or ongoing priorities, I agree that work and its cost with you as a separate engagement.

Is the session remote?

Yes. The £495 Health Check includes a 90-minute online working session and the written findings and action plan. I agree the attendees with you and confirm the applicable VAT treatment in your written quote. Submitting an enquiry requests a conversation; it does not reserve a time or take payment.
